Synechron is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team, working with a Big4 banking client in Sydney. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in predictive modeling, data analysis, and machine learning. You will leverage your analytical expertise to optimize pricing strategies and enhance portfolio management, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive actionable insights.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Experiment, develop and implement predictive models to optimize pricing strategies and enhance portfolio management.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, finance, and operations to understand business requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  • Utilize tools such as Tableau for data visualization and reporting to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Employ Python or R for data analysis, model development, and implementation of machine learning algorithms.
  • H20, and ML Ops workflows for building, training, and deploying machine learning models at scale.
  • Conduct A/B testing and other experimental designs to validate model effectiveness and optimize strategies.
  • Familiarity with SQL for data extraction and manipulation
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data science and machine learning.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data science with a focus on predictive modelling for price optimization and portfolio management.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and modelling using Python or R.
  • Experience with data visualization tools, specifically Tableau.
  • Familiarity with ML Ops concepts and practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in working with large datasets and understanding of data warehousing concepts is a plus.
