Node/Typescript/React Engineer

The Role:

As a Node/TypeScript/React Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining full-stack applications, ensuring scalability, security, and performance. You will work closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions, leveraging modern frontend and backend technologies. This role requires a deep understanding of frontend and backend development, authentication mechanisms, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

Frontend Development:

• Build dynamic and responsive user interfaces using React and Next.js.
• Work with stakeholders to implement usable and responsive UIs.

Backend Development:

• Develop and maintain backend services using modern frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Express).
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL endpoints to power frontend applications.
• Ensure data consistency and scalability with database integrations.

Authentication and Security:

• Implement authentication mechanisms, including SSO solutions and integrations with Auth0 (or similar).
• Enhance application security by following best practices for user authentication, authorization, and secure data storage.

Collaboration and Best Practices:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide estimates, and deliver features.
• Write clean, modular, and testable code following industry best practices.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to improve the performance, maintainability, and scalability of existing systems.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging frontend and backend technologies and recommend their adoption where applicable.

SSO and Authentication (Bonus):

• Design and implement SSO integrations for enterprise users.
• Set up and manage user authentication flows using platforms like Auth0, OAuth 2.0, or OpenID Connect.

Requirements:

Frontend Skills:

• Proficiency in React and Next.js.
• Strong understanding of modern frontend development practices, including component-based architecture, state management, and server-side rendering (SSR).
• Familiarity with CSS-in-JS solutions (e.g., Styled Components, Emotion) or traditional CSS frameworks.

Backend Skills:

• Experience with TypeScript for strongly typed development.
• Experience building and maintaining scalable backend services with frameworks like Node.js or Express.
• Familiarity with database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and ORMs (e.g., Prisma, Sequelize).
• Knowledge of API development with REST or GraphQL.

Authentication and Security (Bonus):

• Experience with implementing SSO solutions for enterprise users.
• Hands-on experience with authentication systems like Auth0, Okta, or custom authentication flows.
• Strong understanding of security best practices for web applications.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of performance optimization tools and strategies for frontend and backend systems.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress, Playwright) for unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
