Senior Software/AI Engineer (Python)

Barden is delighted to act on behalf of our client in appointing a Senior Software Engineer to their expanding AI team. This role is well-suited for someone with a strong foundation in Software Engineering and DevOps, offering the chance to learn and develop AI-related skills on the job.

Proficiency in either Python or Java is essential, and for skilled Java Engineers, a willingness to upskill in Python will be required.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• The role will involve bringing an application from inception to production ensuring maintainability, quality, security, and performance.
• You will work closely with the development team to break down big requirements into smaller, testable parts.
• Create effective automated tests for the application.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Thrive in a collaborative team environment.
• Be able to work under tight deadlines.
• Provide support for critical applications running in production.

ABOUT THE PERSON:

• 8+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Significant experience in Python or Java is essential.
• Experience with Azure Cloud or similar Cloud Technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions.
• Strong understanding of automated testing, Docker, Kubernetes, REST APIs, and security fundamentals.
• Knowledge of databases (both relational and non-relational).
• Experience leading and overseeing large projects.

Experience with any or all the following is a plus:

• Exposure to Azure AI services, Generative AI, and Large Language Models.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
• Some Linux administration skills.
• Comfortable with scripting (e.g., Bash).
