JOB DESCRIPTION


Job Summary: the Client, is looking for a competent Network Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Network Security Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the secure and efficient operation of our multi-site network infrastructure. This includes managing network cabling, configuring network devices and implementing robust security measures.


Responsibilities:


Design, deploy and maintain network infrastructure across multiple sites, ensuring high availability and reliability.

Perform network cabling and physical connectivity configuration, following industry best practices.

Configure and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.

Implement and manage network security measures such as firewalls, virtual private networks (VPNs), access control lists, and network segmentation.

Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks and propose optimization solutions.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement network solutions that meet business requirements.

Regularly perform security assessments, vulnerability scans and penetration tests to identify and mitigate potential risks.

Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging technologies and network security best practices.


Requirements:


University degree in computer science, information technology or related field.

Proven experience as a network security engineer or similar position.

Solid knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching and network security principles.

Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices, such as Cisco routers and switches (Cisco Catalyst + Meraki + ISE required).

Familiarity with network cabling standards and practices.

Experience in implementing and managing security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs and intrusion detection systems.

Experience in the field of network equipment in an open/public environment.

Understanding of network monitoring tools and techniques.

Proven Network Experience: +10 Years

Proven experiences of mass wifi deployment: +2 deployments

Experience in the public / parastatal domain: + 5 years

Experience in public markets

Experience in NAC / 802.1x deployment
