Cloud Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure solutions using Microsoft Azure. Other cloud platforms will also be considered.
• Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts (using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation) to ensure efficient infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor cloud infrastructure performance and optimize for cost and efficiency. Implement monitoring tools to ensure system health and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure cloud-based systems are secure, compliant with organizational and regulatory standards, and that access control and encryption are properly implemented.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, architects, and operations teams to support cloud application deployments and system design.
• Disaster Recovery & Backup: Ensure disaster recovery and backup systems are in place to prevent data loss and ensure uptime.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain documentation for cloud architecture, configurations, and operational procedures. Provide regular reports on system performance, incidents, and improvements.
• Cloud Migration: Assist in migrating legacy systems and applications to the cloud.

Required:

• Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms , (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud).
• Cloud Platforms: Strong working knowledge of cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, databases, and security.
• Automation Tools: Proficient in using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Programming/Scripting: Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Security: Knowledge of cloud security best practices and experience with identity management, encryption, and compliance frameworks (such as GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
• Operating Systems: Strong understanding of Linux/Unix and Windows-based systems.
• Networking: Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (VPC, VPN, firewalls, load balancing).
• Containers & Orchestration: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container technologies.
• Database Management: Experience managing cloud-based databases (RDS, NoSQL, etc.).
