ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you a strong allrounder who is a seasoned Geologist or Earth Scientist with a passion for leading high-impact projects in mining, water well drilling, and exploration? We’re seeking a Senior Geoscience Project Manager to spearhead our expanding operations in Oman. This pivotal role blends hands-on fieldwork with strategic office-based leadership to drive our growing SME forward.

You will report directly to the Managing Director, contributing to high-level decision-making and operational expansion.

You will be responsible for key project delivery while implementing robust project management frameworks (including Agile/SCRUM), fostering team development across diverse backgrounds, and introducing cutting-edge PM software across the entire organization. If you bring a long-term vision, at least 10 years of relevant experience, and a desire to develop an emerging enterprise, we’d love to hear from you!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Leadership & Implementation

• Lead end-to-end management of geologic exploration and drilling projects—planning, execution, and delivery.
• Client liaison, interaction, and communication, ensuring satisfaction and timely project updates.
• Introduce and champion PM software and Agile methodologies (e.g., SCRUM) throughout the company.
• Establish timelines, budgets, and milestones using tools such as Primavera, MS Project, and other relevant platforms while effectively managing client payments and financial tracking.

Team Coordination & Development

• Manage multidisciplinary teams (geologists, field personnel, office staff) ensuring seamless collaboration in both field and office environments.
• Mentor and develop staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Data Management & Reporting

• Oversee data collection, interpretation, and report writing for project stakeholders.
• Maintain rigorous quality control, ensuring compliance with HSE and ISO standards.

Strategic Growth & Stakeholder Engagement

• Support the expansion of a small-to-medium-sized enterprise within the Middle East, help positioning the organization for long-term growth.
• Collaborate with government authorities, local communities, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success and strong community relations.

Health, Safety & Environment

• Enforce strict HSE protocols, embedding a safety-first mindset in field and office operations.
• Champion sustainability and environmental best practices in all project phases.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Earth Science, or a related field.

Professional Experience:

• Minimum 10+ years managing projects in mining, water well drilling, or exploration.
• At least 5 years of experience in the Middle East, plus additional international exposure.
• Demonstrated success in implementing project management software and Agile frameworks.

Leadership & Communication:

• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams with diverse technical backgrounds.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a supportive and engaging work environment.

Technical Expertise:

• Hands-on experience with PM tools (Primavera, MS Project) and methodologies (Agile, ISO, HSE systems).
• Comfortable with data management, technical reporting, and remote field operations.

Commitment to Oman:

• Willingness to relocate or already based in Oman, with a long-term perspective to grow within the region.
