Senior Ops Engineer

Ops Engineer (Kafka Expertise Required)

Our client is a pioneering company delivering AI-powered solutions to enhance cybersecurity, device management, and parental control features for millions of households through network service providers.

They are seeking an experienced Ops Engineer with a strong software engineering background and hands-on experience managing large-scale systems in production. You should have solid skills in backend development (especially Python) and significant expertise with Apache Kafka. The right candidate will be proactive, collaborative, and adept at diagnosing and resolving application issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Resolve complex infrastructure and application challenges.
• Oversee monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure operational excellence.
• Develop automation and tooling to streamline workflows and reduce manual processes.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and implement preventative measures.
• Work closely with development teams to identify and resolve bugs, improving system performance.
• Design and maintain robust monitoring and alerting setups using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, and CloudWatch.
• Automate common responses to incidents to minimize downtime.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality.

Preferred Skills:

• In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Apache Kafka in production environments.
• Proficiency in backend development, particularly in Python.
• Advanced knowledge of AWS infrastructure and services.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, and CloudWatch.
• Familiarity with Tier 2 technical support processes and best practices.
• Previous experience in a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role or a similar position overseeing large-scale systems.
