Your role
As an Avionics Technician in the Air Force, you’ll service and repair electronics systems on state-of-the-art aircraft, such as the P-8A Poseidon, C-17A Globemaster III and F-35A Lightning II. You’ll work as part of a highly skilled team, and be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of avionics systems and equipment at either flightline or workshop level.
Your duties may include:
- Aircraft flightline handling and oxygen replenishment.
- Inspecting, removing, installing, testing, and troubleshooting aircraft avionic, electronic and oxygen systems and components.
- Disassembling and reassembling aircraft components.
- Preparing and using aircraft support equipment.
- Manufacturing and repairing aircraft electrical looms and antenna cables.
- Performing aircraft reconfigurations, upgrades and modifications.
- Identifying and demanding aircraft spares.
- Preparing and packaging technical equipment for transportation.

Salary
Upon completion of initial military and employment training, you will enjoy a salary package starting from $75,451.
Location
Following training, you may be posted to one of the major Air Force bases around Australia, such as RAAF Base Amberley, Williamtown, or Edinburgh.

For this role, you must be at least 17 at the time of enlistment, an Australian Citizen, and have passed Year 10 English, Maths and Science (with a Physics component).
