Software Engineer - Android

Are you passionate about creating high-quality Android applications? We're looking for an experienced Android Developer to join the Betashares team and play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our Betashares Direct app.

You’ll be responsible for building and enhancing the app while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams on technical solutions, architecture, and agile development practices. You’ll actively contribute to code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the app stays ahead of the latest development trends.

Role Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the Betashares Direct Android application.
• Contribute to technical solution designs and architecture.
• Work in an agile team and iteratively design products.
• Actively participate in the code review process by submitting and reviewing pull requests.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following best practices in coding standards, version control, and testing.
• Collaborate closely with designers and product managers to devise the best solutions for building features.
• Identify and troubleshoot bugs or issues in existing applications.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Android development trends, libraries, and tools.
  
  

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing Android applications.
• Proficient in Kotlin.
• Familiarity with architectural patterns such as MVVM and Clean Architecture.
• Exposure to libraries like Retrofit, Room, Dagger, and Jetpack components.
• Experience with CI/CD tools for Android.
• Understanding of the Jetpack Compose framework is a huge plus.
• Experience working with UI design systems or component libraries.
• Strong understanding of backend technologies is highly beneficial.
• Well-versed in Git and sound continuous delivery principles.
