Our valued federal government client is seeking a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join their team based in Canberra. In this role, you will work closely with development teams to provide and support the necessary environments that enable the swift and efficient delivery of services, utilizing automation and self-service approaches
Contract Role - ASAP - 30/06/2025 with possible extensions
Security Clearance Requirement -Baseline Clearance or Higher
Key Responsibilities
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automating tasks.
- Knowledge of tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI for continuous integration and deployment.
- Skills in Docker for containerization and Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, or Mesos for orchestration.
- Understanding of major cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, including their services for compute, storage, databases, networking, etc.
- Expertise in Git or other version control systems.
- Familiarity with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), or Datadog for system monitoring and log management.
- Knowledge of security best practices, including network security, application security, and compliance standards like GDPR, HIPAA.
- Ability to work seamlessly across development and operations teams, fostering a culture of collaboration.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfort with evolving technologies and practices in the DevOps landscape.
- Proven experience in bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, ensuring that software can be developed, deployed, and maintained more efficiently and reliably.

- Experience with tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Terraform for managing server configurations.
- Familiarity with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), or Datadog for system monitoring and log management.
- Knowledge of security best practices, including network security, application security, and compliance standards like GDPR, HIPAA.
Clearance Requirements
- Hold a Baseline Security Clearance or Higher
