Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Join a global financial software company as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer.

This position will support their APAC client network, working across a mix of applications and cloud. This is the first Senior position locally, with the business having a global support network across Asia and Europe. They are looking for someone who comes from a Software Engineering background, not an Infrastructure background. They offer a hybrid working style, requiring you to come into their Sydney CBD office 3 days per week (no set days however). Experience working in the Financial Services industry is mandatory (ideally within Funds Management).

Responsibilities:

• Liaise with clients (end users), pre/post sales team and services teams to provide implementation support, post-implementation support, everyday use support and to configurate new modules/features.
• Application support of the companies various asset management applications
• Monitor and manage cloud resources and performance
• Troubleshoots issues with cloud-based solutions and services, and implements enhancements and fixes when necessary
• Plan and implement the migration of data and other information to the cloud
• Liaising with clients (end users) to understand what issues they are facing and how to implement a suitable fix
• Liaising with development teams in Europe for major fixes

Requirements:

• 4 + years experience working as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer
• 2+ years experience working in the Financial Services industry (Funds Management, ideally)
• Experience with financial software implementation support
• Knowledgeable in: XML APIs, Webservices (SOAP/REST), Web Application servers (Tomcat/JBoss/Webphere), Messaging, HMI SWING or SWT, OS (Unix and Windows), DBMS (Oracle, or SqlServe).
• Knowledgeable in development tools (E.g. Eclipse)
• Knowledgeable in versioning tools like Git.
• Knowledgeable in Unix commands.
• Fantastic communicator, comfortable speaking to clients (end users)
• Comfortable working in a small team
