About The Role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer (m/f/d) to join our cross-functional Patient Experience Team. Together with other Backend Engineers, you'll be responsible for building and further developing efficient and secure data communication channels across systems. Beyond a passion for building robust application interfaces, this role requires strong communication and team player skills.

What you’ll do

• Build Scalable APIs: Develop and maintain highly efficient RESTful APIs using Python and Django, supporting cutting-edge healthcare applications
• Cloud Infrastructure: Design, deploy, and optimize services on AWS cloud infrastructure
• Enhance API Security: Implement robust security measures to safeguard sensitive data and authentication mechanisms
• Performance Optimization: Use tools like Datadog and CloudWatch to monitor and optimize system performance
• Collaborate and Share Knowledge: Promote a culture of learning through knowledge-sharing sessions and pair programming
• Maintain High Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to industry best practices

What you’ll need

• 3+ years of professional experience with Python and Python-based frameworks (we use Django)
• Strong SQL skills and experience with Object-Relational Mapping (ORMs)
• Experience with cloud services – we’re on AWS (Azure, GCP, AWS, or similar technologies)
• Competency with revision control systems (we use Git)
• CS, engineering degree, or equivalent experience
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Strong collaboration skills with both developers and other subject matter experts
• Proven track record of always learning and growing
• Proactive and problem-solving attitude
