Job Overview:

Gempool is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our client’s onsite team for an 11-month contract role based in Dublin, Ireland. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in large-scale networking environments and be comfortable troubleshooting networking issues and collaborating with external providers and local data centre technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with external providers and local data center technicians to resolve physical link issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve networking-related failures and performance issues in complex environments.
• Read, understand, and utilise Python code for network automation and troubleshooting tasks.
• Provide expertise and support in maintaining optimal networking performance across various systems.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience working in large-scale networking environments.
• In-depth experience with BGP and OSPF network routing protocols.
• Hands-on experience in a Linux/Unix environment, including troubleshooting and system administration.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming, with the ability to leverage code for networking tasks and automation.

Desirable Skills:

• Previous experience in a data center or cloud-based network environment.
• Familiarity with other network automation tools and scripting languages.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
