About the Position
Arcadia is seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Coordinator to lead and oversee a team of 20 human resources assistants. This pivotal leadership role is key to driving the organization’s administration and recruitment strategy, ensuring the identification and recruitment of top-tier talent to meet Arcadia’s evolving needs. The assistants will be appointed to managers for administrative tasks. The Coordinator will work closely with other HR managers to assign assistants to various managers and streamline the workflow and reporting process. In doing so, the assistants will also learn recruitment principles, aligning recruitment efforts with the organization’s strategic goals to ensure the right talent is brought in to support our continued growth and transformation. In this role, you will take ownership of setting the strategic direction for teaching recruitment in accordance with the organization's needs, while showcasing the recruitment process as a key part of HR. You will guide your team in executing advanced recruitment methodologies, ensuring that selected candidates are evaluated with the highest level of professionalism and expertise. As the leader of this assistant team, you will collaborate with each head of the HR department to assign assistants to different departments, rotating them on a monthly basis to allow them to experience various areas of HR. You will be tasked with guiding them to understand the different disciplines of HR while strengthening their core HR recruitment skills. Your leadership will be integral in shaping the future leadership of the organization. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the recruitment of top leadership talent is conducted with the utmost confidentiality, professionalism, and alignment with Arcadia’s values and mission. Additionally, you will conduct monthly department meetings and report directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer, providing insights and updates on recruitment progress.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment Strategy and Team Development
- Design and implement recruitment strategies to ensure a steady pipeline of top-tier talent, especially for leadership roles. Guide the development and execution of recruitment campaigns, ensuring they align with organizational goals and workforce planning. Mentor a team of HR assistants by teaching them recruitment best practices, helping them support the recruitment officers in sourcing and evaluating candidates effectively.
Assistant Management and Rotation
- Manage a diverse team of 20 HR assistants, providing them with hands-on experience across various HR disciplines. Appoint assistants to different HR managers within the organization—covering areas like culture, training, development, recruitment, talent acquisition, and communication—to broaden their perspectives and develop a well-rounded skill set. Ensure assistants receive continuous guidance, while helping them apply their learnings to real-world HR functions.
Leadership and Performance Oversight
- Lead and mentor the HR assistant team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Set clear performance expectations, provide feedback, and evaluate progress. Hold monthly meetings to assess recruitment metrics and the assistant rotation process, identifying areas for improvement and enhancing efficiency.
Skills and Competencies Required:
Recruitment and Talent Management Expertise
- Extensive experience in recruitment, with a deep understanding of candidate sourcing, evaluation, and selection. Ability to mentor and teach recruitment principles to others, ensuring assistants are equipped to contribute effectively to the recruitment team.
Cross-Departmental Team Management
- Proven experience in managing and mentoring a diverse group of assistants, ensuring they gain exposure to different HR functions. Ability to guide assistants through rotating placements, balancing their development across various HR disciplines while maintaining focus on the overall recruitment strategy.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Organisational Leadership, or a related field is required.
- 5 years of experience in recruitment, talent coordination, or headhunting, with a proven track record of success in C level, director level, and senior leadership recruitment.
- Minimum 3 years experience in managing and leading a team of high performing recruitment professionals, including setting performance metrics, providing coaching, and driving team success. A solid background in designing and executing recruitment strategies specifically tailored to identify and attract high caliber leadership talent.
- Proven ability to work closely with executive teams and senior leadership to understand organisational needs, contribute to workforce planning, and align recruitment strategies with long term business goals.
- Expertise in executive search methodologies and headhunting techniques, including talent mapping, market research, and competitor analysis to identify the best candidates.
- Strong understanding of candidate assessment frameworks, with the ability to implement and manage rigorous interview processes for senior leadership roles, ensuring the selection of individuals who align with organisational culture and strategic objectives.
- Proven success in managing confidential and sensitive recruitment operations, particularly at the executive level, demonstrating discretion, professionalism, and integrity in all hiring activities.
- Comfortable with part time commitment, contributing 8–10 hours (20%) per week, with availability for remote work, selecting your own working hours.
- A motivational and empathetic leadership style, with a commitment to fostering inclusivity, integrity, and excellence. Strong interpersonal skills to inspire trust and credibility within the organization.
