Purpose and Objectives for the Role
This role will be the business’s dedicated project management capability. It will both directly manage the definition and delivery of key projects, and support in the development of a methodology and business wide practice for how projects and portfolios of change will be developed, governed and implemented. It will provide a day-to-day capability that will be a key part of enabling the business to evolve from its current state, operating effectively in a steady state, but lacking capability and capacity to transform itself technically, commercially and operationally.
The business needs to do so to be in position to sustainably grow and meet new regulatory requirements. As such this role will require a project manager that is able to apply a solid understanding and experience of effective project/programme management, but also have an appreciation of portfolio planning, change and project office management practices as it will need to support the design and implementation of business wide practises in a tailored way (to fit the organizational context and current level of maturity).

Overall Responsibilities
- For a small portfolio of material risk/high complexity projects, to directly manage project development & delivery
- To define standards for project/programme management and embed them within the business so that others can adopt. To coach/ advise/enable others to enable them to follow good practice, and to ensure minimum standards are being adhered to.
- To support the Commercial Director and the wider Executive team to develop transformation plans and portfolios as part of developing Annual Business Plans, and to run the set up process in the business to ensure these plans are well set for delivery.
- To support the set up, and then run a suitably scoped project management office capability within the business and execute portfolio/plan delivery governance and reporting for external and internal stakeholder requirements.
- As required to devise and run replanning of projects and portfolios in year to best support targeted ABP outcomes and stakeholder requirements.
- To support the Commercial Director and the wider Executive team to manage and implement change management activities to ensure change projects have the desired outcomes and adoption.
- Project Management: Extensive experience in defining and delivering project scope, objectives, deliverables, budgets, planning, RAID identification and management, and project execution
- Change Management: Demonstrable understanding of how to apply change management approaches in the delivery of projects, and an appreciation of change portfolio management
- Programme and Portfolio design: Experience of supporting the design of transformation portfolios to deliver organisational goals and how to construct programme level plans.
- Project Management Office: Sufficient experience of project or programme management in an environment where there is an established PMO in order to be able to support the design and establishment of context appropriate PMO practises (i.e. Change Management Frameworks, Resource planning and budgeting, programme governance and reporting methodologies)
- Project management methodologies: Be au fait with the working practises of commonly practised project management methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Agile) in order to be able to incorporate into defining appropriate practise for Big Ticket.
- Stakeholder Management: Demonstratable capabilities in identifying and anticipating stakeholder needs, building effective relationships at Executive level, and being able to persuade with sound logic and evidence-based rationale.
- Regulatory Requirements: Past experience of ensuring projects and initiatives comply with regulatory requirements. Ability to interpret what regulations mean for project scope, outcomes, approach and deliverables. (Ideally) experience of engaging directly with a regulatory body on project delivery.
- Supplier management on project delivery: Demonstrable experience of working with and ensuring technology suppliers deliver to agreed plans.
- Project/programme governance: Confident and comfortable to design and facilitate effective exec level governance of key projects and programmes.
- Ideally to have worked in a business to consumer context, preferably with retail & digital channels to market in telecoms or financial services or gambling industries.
- Project Management certifications highly desirable (APM, Prince2 etc)
