Senior Backend Engineer (Solana)

Career Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a Senior Backend Engineer (Solana) - this is a fully remote role, but candidates need to be based in EMEA timezones.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Solana) to join our growing team and play a crucial role in building and maintaining the backend systems that power our platform. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with the Solana ecosystem, strong backend development skills with TypeScript, and a passion for blockchain technology. The position will report to our Backend Lead.

The current tech stack we use:

• Node.js running TypeScript code in Docker containers
• MongoDB and Redis for our data
• ethers.js for communication with the EVM blockchains
• Github, Kubernetes, AWS and CloudFlare for our GitOps CD chain
  
  
  

Please note: You must be located in the EMEA region and have a good technical understanding of the Solana ecosystem. Your application will not be considered otherwise.

What You'll Do

• Leading the design, development, and maintenance of Solana-focused backend systems and APIs
• Architecting and implement scalable, robust solutions tailored to Solana's unique requirements
• Maintaining high coding standards, conduct code reviews, and ensuring best practices for code maintainability and readability
• Identifying bottlenecks and optimizing code and algorithms to improve system performance
• Implementing monitoring and debugging tools to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring high system availability
• Developing and maintaining comprehensive test suites, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests, to ensure the reliability of backend systems
• Providing guidance and mentorship to junior developers, helping them grow their technical skills
• Analyzing complex technical problems and propose effective solutions to address them
• Documenting code, APIs, and technical processes to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team and support onboarding of new developers
  
  
  

Requirements

Strong experience with the Solana ecosystem and backend development in TypeScript

Proven ability to design, build, and optimise scalable backend systems, including APIs and smart contract interactions

Deep understanding of testing frameworks, debugging, and performance tuning for high-availability systems

Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, mentor junior developers, and communicate effectively

Must be located in the EMEA region
