Position: Product Manager

Location: Toronto, Ontario, CN

Duration: Long Term Contract


Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Product Team Leadership:

  • Experience leading user research best practices to establish and maintain high standards for digital and data products.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams (user experience designers, developers and quality assurance experts) to deliver complex a range of digital solutions.
  • Experience leading large scale, complex projects and initiatives with high levels of autonomy.
  • Experience providing leadership, and guiding the work of team members/colleagues, for example, training, mentoring and supporting the development of others.


Product Management:

  • Experience developing a product vision and strategy.
  • Understanding of the digital marketplace, digital platforms, technology & market trends to identify product opportunities.
  • Have led multi-disciplinary teams to achieve that vision from concept to launch using such methods as agile.
  • Demonstrated decision making and prioritization skills.
  • Experience collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to translate the product vision into a backlog and lead the team through smooth and continuous delivery
  • Experience working on a mature product, balancing the need to address technical debt with new product enhancements through continuous iterations.
  • Knowledge and experience with project management and agile methodologies, principles and processes
  • Experience in change management and risk management principles and processes to provide leadership in the development of strategic plans and change management initiatives and their roll-out.
  • Has experience product managing an API service including oversight of the meta-data and data standards
  • Has experience product managing mobile applications on mobile phones and tablets


Digital Project Expertise:

  • Experience in undertaking & leading parts of complex projects of different sizes, ensuring alignment to project and sprint plans & best practice, incorporating user centered design processes & methodologies.
  • Experience prioritizing generative user research & promoting continuous user validation as early and as frequent as possible.
  • Experience working with management and colleagues to anticipate & resolve project issues.
  • Comfortable actioning ideas generated through user research & analysis to plan for a better user experience.
  • Experience with current web trends, & standards like the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and WCAG 2.0 AA, & FIPPA-30%


Communications:

  • Demonstrated communications skills to participate in team discussions, make recommendations and document work.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing trusting and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and can effectively promote collaboration among differing viewpoints.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell ideas to colleagues, both technical and non-technical.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and clients to understand and support their users needs.
