Title: Networking Specialist

Duration: 8 Months +

Location: Remote

(ONLY W2)


Job Description:

Required Skills We are looking for networking specialist to support/drive the implementation of Equinix Fabric Network for a large State agency. The scope involves assessing the current point to point VPN/Direct connections and migrating to Equinix Fabric. Endpoints includes AWS, Azure and Datacenter


Technical Expertise:

Equinix Fabric: In-depth knowledge of Equinix Fabric, including its architecture, features, and functionalities.

Network Architecture: Strong understanding of network design principles, including LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and interconnection.

Cloud Connectivity: Experience with cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and establishing direct connections via Equinix Fabric.

Configuration and Deployment:


Network Configuration:

Proficiency in configuring network devices (e.g., routers, switches) for Equinix Fabric connectivity.

Virtual Connections: Experience in setting up and managing virtual connections and network services through the Equinix Fabric portal.

Automation Tools: Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible) for deploying and managing network configurations.


Security and Compliance:

Network Security: Strong understanding of network security principles, including firewalls, VPNs, and encryption.

Compliance Standards: Knowledge of industry compliance standards (e.g., ISO, SOC, GDPR) and ensuring network implementations adhere to these standards.

Access Control: Experience in implementing access control policies and procedures to secure network connections.


Troubleshooting and Support:

Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve network issues related to Equinix Fabric.

Monitoring Tools: Proficiency in using network monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk) to track performance and identify issues.

Technical Support: Ability to provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal teams during and after implementation.


Vendor and Partner Collaboration:

Vendor Management: Experience in working with network equipment vendors and service providers to procure and deploy necessary hardware and services.

Partner Integration: Ability to collaborate with cloud service providers and other partners to ensure seamless integration with Equinix Fabric.


Preferred Skills

  • Certifications (Preferred, but not mandatory):
  • Network Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIP, or equivalent.
  • Equinix Certifications: Equinix Certified Network Engineer (ECNE) or similar certifications related to Equinix services.


Responsibilities

  • Support the current implementation team with discovery and network routing changes.
  • Work with the endpoints to complete the migration.
  • Expected Deliverable(s): SDLC for Network Implementation
