Senior Engineer - Process

Overview

The Senior Engineer - Process is responsible for executing process engineering work on assigned projects under the supervision of the Lead Process Engineer. The role involves process simulations, preparing key deliverables, and ensuring compliance with project scope and safety standards. The Senior Process Engineer collaborates with the Project Management Team (PMT) and other discipline engineers, providing technical expertise in process design, equipment sizing, and system optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform process engineering tasks for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with the scope of work.
• Monitor and manage changes to project scope, raising change notifications as needed.
• Collaborate with the PMT and other Discipline Engineers on process-related matters.
• Prepare and check the following deliverables in accordance with project scope:
• Process simulations and heat and material balances.
• Process design basis documents.
• Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Safe charts and Process Safeguarding Diagrams (PSDs).
• Operating philosophy and operation manuals.
• Equipment and instrument process datasheets.
• Equipment and line lists.
• Flare radiation and dispersion calculations.
• Depressurization and flare network studies.
• Equipment and line sizing calculations.
• Fluid lists.
• Ensure efficient document control and filing systems for easy retrieval of documents.
• Assist the Lead Process Engineer in Interdisciplinary Checks (IDC) to maintain design accuracy.
• Liaise with the drafting team for the development of process drawings.
• Provide technical support during project phases, from conceptual design to detailed engineering and execution.
  

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering (BE).
  
  

Certifications / Specialization / IT Skills

• Proficiency in Process Simulation software such as HYSYS or Unisim, and Flare load calculation using Aspen Flarenet.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards for process engineering.
  
  

Experience

• 8–10 years of experience in process engineering, particularly in the oil and gas sector, with a focus on offshore wellhead/process platform projects.
  
  

Technical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of process engineering design and documentation, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process datasheets, and process descriptions.
• Expertise in process simulation, equipment sizing, and flare system calculations.
