Machine Learning Engineer

We are working with a federal government agency who are seeking a skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join their high-impact team driving strategic Data Science & Advanced Analytics initiatives. This role will to help shape cutting-edge AI solutions that support a world-leading disability support system.

This is a 12 month contract role with a 12 month extension, based in Sydney.

**Applicants must be Australian Citizens for security clearance purposes**

Key Responsibilities

• Build secure CI/CD pipelines for advanced analytics applications
• Develop and maintain machine learning models using Python, R, and cloud technologies (AWS/Azure)
• Extract, cleanse, and prepare large datasets for meaningful insights
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive enterprise-wide AI adoption
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of technical excellence

About You

• Proficient in Python, R, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps
• Experienced in AWS/Azure SDK development and machine learning libraries (NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, spaCy, NLTK)
• Skilled in data extraction, transformation, and modelling
• Strong communicator, able to work in a collaborative, high-performance environment
• Passionate about leveraging data science to drive impactful decisions
• Must be an Australian Citizen to be eligible for this role
