Software Developer Trainee

NAPA Design Solutions’ Development teams are looking for two summer colleagues for the role of a Software Developer Trainee. This job is a full-time position during the summer months of 2025, and it is located in our sea view office in Helsinki, Ruoholahti.

NAPA is a leading provider of comprehensive 3D model-based ship design software. Our solution brings unrivalled value to our clients to ensure safe, efficient, and competitive vessel designs. Our main customers range from the biggest shipyards in the world and engineering consultancies to leading classification societies.

The role and the team

In this role, your primary responsibilities involve assisting with various development and programming tasks. In addition, you can support us in manual and automated testing tasks. While performing these duties, you will contribute to the quality and reliability of our products. The working language is English, and you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a global team. The team comprises members based in Helsinki and worldwide, fostering a diverse and collaborative work environment.

When you begin to work, you will be assigned an onboarding buddy from the team, who will take care of a good start at your job and who will introduce the NAPA Way of working.

You could be a good fit for the role if you have:

• Studies in relevant field, e.g., naval architecture, or computer sciences
• Professional working proficiency in both written and spoken English
• Experience with some programming languages (e.g. C#, other OOP languages or Ruby)

It is a bonus if you also have:

• Some knowledge of NAPA software
• Experience in developing UI (WPF)
