Job Description

Scope

Overall responsibility for team success by agreeing, implementing and monitoring individual and team objectives and targets whilst ensuring company policies and procedures are adhered to.

Responsibilities

  • Provide department support and supervise the staff in the air gateway team. freight department.
  • Prepare shipments for clients PSA BDP offices and/or agents: customs clearance, shipping, distribution and identify their needs and provide feedback.
  • Coordinate pickup and delivery orders with trucking companies, airlines, shipping lines, warehouses etc. to obtain necessary information in order the process shipments in the best way.
  • Training of staff
  • Sets quarterly targets and objectives
  • Communication- encourages respect and open communication within and beyond the team
  • Review workflows and procedures and provides feedback to maintain a high quality of service level
  • Documents, records and reports all discrepancies to include missed deadlines.
  • Handling escalations from customers and internally
  • Monitoring Operational KPIs on regular basis to ensure they are achieved and improved consistently.
  • Issuing freight bills, invoices to brokers and responsible for collecting unpaid invoices within the credit term
  • Order processing management
  • Meet and exceed (internal) customer demans
  • Planning / booking / Transportation orders and Coordination / follow up of shipments
  • Customs processing (export / import) and Documentation/administration/invoicing/filing and feedback to the customer (internal and external reporting of the shipments to the customer) by various means (phone, mail, EDI)
  • Operational troubleshooting
  • Lead a team of high motivated team member
  • Risk analysis and monitoring the profitability of the gateway inclusive month end closing (all invoicing done, no reporting)
  • Non-conformance reporting in accordance with KPI’s
  • Cooperation with approved subcontractors in accordance with agreed rules
  • End to end processing
  • Punctual flawless order handling and documentation
  • Manage and increase safety and quality control

Job Requirements

Qualifications / Experience

  • Graduate of any discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in a supervisory role in operations within the freight forwarding industry
  • Knowledge and experience in building consolidations – loose VS PMC level
  • General knowledge of various local and International shipping and freight forwarding practices is an advantage.
  • Combined excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to analise situations and to make good decisions based on available information.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing policies and procedures .
  • Knowledge in SAP, ERP systems , computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite will be an added advantage.
  • Must have confident personality as well as an exceptional work.
