Key Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• Proven track record in developing software solutions with a solid engineering background.

• A strong passion for working with cross-functional teams, sharing ideas, and iterating on solutions.
• Software Design & Architecture
• Strong attention to detail in software design, with a keen focus on architecture best practices.

Native (MapKit)

Work with MapKit APIs across our native platforms, including iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS:

• Platform-Specific Development
• Writing custom code for each platform, tailored to its respective UI framework and capabilities.
• Experience with Object-Oriented Programming
• Expertise in programming languages such as Swift and/or Objective-C.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Requirements Gathering & Solution Development
• Engage with clients to understand their needs and translate them into scalable, reliable code.
• API Design & Development
• Design and implement APIs to ensure functionality and performance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Human Interaction Design, Services, and other Engineering and Data teams.
• Feature Development & Maintenance
• Develop, launch, and maintain cross-platform features, ensuring smooth integration.
• Quality Assurance
• Collaborate with QA teams by developing and maintaining test tools and test cases to ensure quality.

Additional Skills

• API Design
• Design and build robust, public APIs for use across various systems and platforms.
• Rendering Experience
• Proficiency in Computer Graphics APIs like OpenGL, Metal, and WebGL.
• Technical Writing
• Experience contributing to or authoring clear, concise developer documentation.
