We are looking for passionate candidates to join our young and energetic team. You will be part of our DevOps Team to build systems for more than 500 Million daily client requests. You will be monitoring service availability and swiftly repair any service-impacting issues. This objective is met by monitoring the services, reacting to problems, and proactively addressing issues before they affect performance or availability. When not fighting fires, the team is responsible for fire prevention through monitoring, automation, self-healing, and resiliency initiatives. The incumbent in this role would demonstrate a strong focus on tactical operations, as well as large-scale production engineering and orchestration.
Position Overview:
Join our dynamic team as a System & DevOps Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our mission-critical services. This position demands a proactive approach to monitoring, maintaining, and enhancing the infrastructure required for our high-uptime environments.
Core Responsibilities:
- System Monitoring: Design and implement robust monitoring systems to guarantee 24/7 operational integrity.
- Emergency Response: Participate in an on-call rotation system, providing immediate action and resolution during system outages.
- Server Management: Oversee the operation and maintenance of our diverse server landscapes across production, testing, and development phases.
- Performance Optimization: Conduct continuous performance assessments, optimize systems, eliminate bottlenecks, and strategize capacity enhancements.
- Security Management: Elevate our system and application security measures through vigilant monitoring and innovative enhancements.
- Problem Resolution: Tackle critical system issues focusing on lasting solutions through automation and thorough root cause analysis.
- Development Support: Collaborate closely with software development teams to refine and accelerate development processes via integrated CI/CD tools.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, closely related field, or substantial professional experience in a similar role.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in System/DevOps engineering.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Experienced with Unix/Linux environments.
- Experienced with version control systems and GIT.
- Experienced with monitoring and automation tools.
- Experienced with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experienced with maintenance and operations of container technologies.
- Proficient with web servers especially Nginx.
- Strong understanding of large-scale distributed systems.
- Scripting Skills: Skilled in scripting languages (BASH, Python, etc.).
- Analytical Abilities: Exceptional problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- Network & Security: In-depth understanding of network and security protocols and best practices.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Automation Tools: Familiar with GitLab CI/CD, Ansible, etc.
- Container Technologies: Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes.
- Monitoring Tools: Familiar with InfluxData, Prometheus, ELK Stack, Grafana, etc.
- Additional Programming: Knowledge of Golang, PHP or other programming languages.
- Systems Experience: Understanding principles of object storage, caching, logging and message queues.
- Database Management: Working experience with managing replicated and sharded database clusters.
