Role Description

This is a project-based internship position for Robotics Engineering at piXel Cybernetics. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the robotic applications. Your day-to-day tasks will include designing and implementing software components, debugging and fixing issues. This is a hybrid role, with work primarily based in Istanbul office located in İTÜ Teknokent and flexibility for some remote work.

Robotics Engineer (ROS specialist, embedded systems)

BS, MS, or PhD in Mechatronics, Electrical-Electronics, Computer/Software Engineering, Robotics, or a related field

Experience developing projects with Python, C++ programming language

Experience in developing applications on edge-computing platforms such as Raspberry Pi

Experience using Robot Operating System (ROS/ROS2) including;

Writing Nodes (Publisher & Subscriber) and planning Topics and Messages

Rqt, Rviz and Gazebo simulator platforms

Managing Sensor data streams (Lidar, stereo camera, IMU, microphone array, force/tactile) and sensory data fusion algorithms.

Motor control (DC motor, servo actuators) with MoveIt motion planning framework

Robot kinematics/dynamics, SLAM algorithms, etc.

Computer Vision applications: Pattern segmentation and recognition with OpenCV and YOLO v8

Database management tools such as SQL and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, ElasticSearch, Redis etc.),

Proficiency with Debian based Linux distributions

Proven experience writing efficient, high-performance code with algorithm development skills

Experience in CI/CD tools (like GitHub, GitLab),

Excellent communication skills with proficiency in both spoken and written English.
