Frontend Engineer

Pickle is a rental marketplace. We seek to make fashion more affordable, sustainable, and accessible by enabling people to rent clothes directly from one another right in their city. Our unique peer-to-peer model allows Pickle to have the coolest and freshest fashion out there. And our same-day local courier delivery not only allows our users to find a last minute outfit when they’re “in a Pickle”, but also helps people get access to items at ~80% off the original retail! We're seeking a highly technical, high-ownership, and results-driven Frontend Engineer to help build the Pickle mobile and web applications. This role will be pivotal in building features and improving performance in the applications that our customers rely on every day. If you’re passionate about building beautiful and highly performant applications, and love working in fast-paced startup environments, this is a great opportunity to have a significant impact on our business.

Responsibilities

Frontend engineering within our mobile app (React Native) and web app (React)

Drive decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes

Develop high-quality and highly performant production code and review code written by others

Monitor support tickets to fix bugs and instruct new development to reduce customer support outreach

Requirements

4+ years of professional work experience as a frontend engineer

Proficient in React Native and React

Experience working on an engineering team at a start up

Extensive knowledge of modern web development technologies, frameworks, and architecture

Collaborative working style with a strong focus on execution and results. Comfortable with a fast paced environment

Ideal Candidate

Experience working with native Swift and Objective-C code

Experience working with GraphQL and REST APIs

Experience building consumer marketplace or e-commerce applications

Highly resourceful with extreme ownership mindset: “If I don’t do it, no one will”

Experience working with small teams (<20 person) at Seed stage or Series A startups

Hands-on experience with A/B testing, and taking initiatives from 0 to 1 to scale - fast

Ability to multitask and effectively manage competing prioritizes, with exceptional follow-through and attention to detail

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a proven ability to influence and drive results across teams

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced ambiguous environment
