About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Interaction Designer to join our growing product design team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting intuitive and delightful user experiences for our innovative line of small-screen wearables and mobile applications (iOS and Android). Our products focus on use in sports and in outdoor settings, and so should you.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers to translate user needs and business goals into seamless and engaging interactions. Your expertise in interaction design principles, combined with a deep understanding of human-computer interaction, will be crucial in creating products that are both user-friendly and captivating.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct user research and competitive analysis to inform design decisions.
• Develop and iterate on user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
• Create and present design solutions, effectively communicating your rationale and design thinking.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure smooth implementation and address technical constraints.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in interaction design and wearable technology.
• Contribute to the overall design system and ensure consistency across all products.
• Participate in design critiques and provide constructive feedback to fellow designers.
• Champion user-centric design principles throughout the product development process.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience as an Interaction Designer.
• Experience in sports or outdoor vertical markets strongly desired.
• Proven experience designing for small-screen devices (wearables, smartwatches, etc.).
• Strong portfolio demonstrating a high level of interaction design skills, including user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
• Experience designing for iOS and Android mobile applications.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
• A strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
• Passion for sports and/or the outdoors, with active participation in at least one sport at the amateur level.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with wearable operating systems.
• Experience with data visualization and information architecture.
• Experience with motion design and micro-interactions.
