Enterprise Data Architect

Role Objective:

The Data Architect will collaborate with stakeholders to develop an end-to-end architecture for Big Data Analytics solutions for the Bank. This role involves driving data analytics and Machine Learning applications in line with enterprise-wide strategies. The Data Architect will develop data models, establish data architecture principles, and devise solutions for Data Integration, Data Warehousing, Reporting, and a unified view of data. This includes managing data lineage, provenance, and cataloging across all data assets, and optimizing data delivery across both on-premise and cloud deployments.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with DS&IT functions and Business Units to identify key business drivers, opportunities, processes, and risks impacting data systems and business architecture.
• Support business units and liaise with external data service providers to develop scalable data architecture through a data-driven approach.
• Develop data architecture models, including roadmaps and integrations, to enhance data warehouse efficiency in line with business needs and customer strategies.
• Assist the Team Lead for Data Operations in defining standards, processes, policies, and SLAs related to Enterprise Data Architecture.
• Maintain and enhance the Enterprise Data Architecture repository and models.
• Create data architecture documents and templates for change initiatives and support solution architects.
• Develop measurement systems and analyze alignment/compliance against evaluation indicators (e.g., scalability, alignment) for quality improvement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on system integration, streamlining business processes and data sources within the tech ecosystem, and identifying/mitigating potential challenges.
• Analyze and suggest opportunities to capitalize on technology advances based on the latest industry and technology trends.
• Assess current capabilities, identify gaps, and define action items/roadmaps for Data Architecture in terms of target state deliverables within the business and technology ecosystems.
• Continually assess and identify risks in line with the Bank’s risk management approach, ensuring they are mitigated and accounted for within the data governance program.
• Analyze and report on data risks and maintain the Data Control Risk Register.
• Ensure adherence to Data Governance standards and regulatory requirements within the DS&IT Department.
• Contribute to and support the implementation of Data Governance programs, policies, and procedures based on ISO and other international standards and best practices, ensuring data integrity.
• Develop and enforce data quality metrics, define processes and controls, and conduct awareness/training sessions for the team on respective processes.

Qualification and Experience Required:

• University graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• A Master’s degree in Management/Technology or a related discipline is an added advantage.
• 10-15 years of experience in the financial services/banking industry, with responsibilities related to the specific area of discipline.
• Previous experience in Enterprise Data Architecture.
• Experience in data transformation projects.

Certifications:

• CDPSE, CDMP, or equivalent data architecture certification is mandatory.
