Product Manager

Job Description of Technical Product Manager: -

• Collaborate with the Business to formulate 12-18-24 month rolling roadmaps aligned to the business vision and strategy, along with collaboration with Product Owners and DevOps/Platform teams to produce a 6–12-month backlog of user stories
• Work with the Product Owner to ensure that work is de-constructed and translated into development activities across teams
• Accountable for the creation and management of epics, backlog management and prioritisation across teams and for conformance to the IT operating model with regards to Agile and Technology Practices
• Active leadership, collaboration, and presentation of roadmaps, capabilities, and features during PI Planning, this leader will be growing or sustaining Value Stream budget guardrails in alignment with the business vision, strategy, Quarterly Business Review, and roadmap
• The role of a Associate Product Owner here is to lead product development within a cross-functional product delivery team,ensuring all work from inception through to implementation and release is of high quality, aligned to the business goals and overall product strategy.
• You are the specialist of a specific product domain/business area, for which you are responsible for continuous improvement according to the specific needs or user pain points.
• You will define the vision, be responsible for creating, articulating and executing the product roadmap, ultimately being accountable for creating value for customers and stakeholders.
• You will have detailed expertise of the technology, the business and the customer for your area of focus. You will be responsible for understanding business and customer needs and articulating this to the delivery team.

Product strategy and delivery

• Own and execute the product roadmap and backlog for your area
• Prioritise based on changing business requirements or customer needs and balancing this against technical improvements
• Strong understanding of problems and pain points, fully articulate and collaborate with your team
• Translating requirements and ideas through to successful implementation and release·
• Define milestones and work alongside Scrum Masters and Delivery Managers to ensure delivery status is well known and in line with your product roadmap
• Collaborate with team members to write and manage user stories
• Lead agile ceremonies e.g. planning, refinement
• Be the voice of the customer and the voice of the wider business to your delivery team. Be the voice of your delivery team to the customer and wider business

Stakeholder engagement

• Build and maintain trusting relationships with your customers and the business
• Keep your stakeholders up-to-date on progress
• Delivery status and feature releases
• Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies

Requirements

• Experience in technical analysis and processing complex technical information
• Strong knowledge of agile development i.e. backlog prioritisation and writing user stories and agile management frameworks e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe
• Understanding iterative development, adopting a fail-fast approach and building MVPs
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) to different audiences (technical, non-technical, senior level)
• Strong understanding of cloud, platform and DevOps technologies with experience building and releasing such products
• Experience using tools such as Jira and Confluence
