Job Title: Network Engineer (Cisco)

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000

About the Role:

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer (Cisco) to join their dynamic IT team in Milton Keynes. This is a fantastic opportunity for a networking professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to develop their career within a forward-thinking company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues efficiently to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain and support Cisco networking equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to support business operations and IT projects.
  • Ensure compliance with network security policies and procedures.
  • Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Stay up to date with the latest networking technologies and industry trends.

Key Requirements:

  • CCNA certification is essential.
  • Proven experience in network administration and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco networking products, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and VLANs.
  • Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, and network security best practices.
  • Experience with Mitel Phone Systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of VoIP and wireless networking solutions.
  • Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible).
