Java Developer (m/f/d)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer with strong Shell scripting skills to join our team in Brussels. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in Java development and scripting, with a preference for those who have worked in the banking sector.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Java applications.
• Write and execute Shell scripts to automate processes and improve system efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and implement technical solutions.
• Ensure application security, performance, and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Provide support for existing applications and ensure seamless integration of new features.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of Spring framework, particularly package integration.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Java development, including experience with Linux and Spring (package integration).
• Strong expertise in Shell scripting (Bash, KornShell, etc.).
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience working with databases (SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and automated testing frameworks is a plus.
• Prior experience in the banking or financial sector is an advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
• Strong communication skills in English and fluency in either French or Dutch.
