DevOps Engineer

As a DEVOPS Engineer within the MAGDA Cloud Platform team, you will be responsible for building a modern cloud platform based on DevOps and Platform Engineering principles. You will also support the migration of an existing private cloud environment to a public cloud offering based on Microsoft Azure.

Key qualifications:

• Proven experience in the development of cloud-based applications
• Proven ability to perform programming tasks efficiently: coding, testing, and debugging
• Proven knowledge and experience with Agile development methodology
• Language requirement: Fluent in Dutch at European CEFR level C2

Context: The MAGDA data-sharing platform established a cloud-ready platform architecture in 2020 to meet the new and future needs of its customers. This platform is a central component for the most critical digitalization projects within the Flemish and local government. The platform facilitates the secure access to authentic Flemish data sources through a technical ‘one-stop-shop,’ making it easier for the government to digitize its services. In 2025, the next step will be taken in this journey, preparing the MAGDA Platform for a secure, reliable, and future-proof transition to a public cloud offering, evolving into a Flemish Data Integration Platform in the coming legislative period.

The MAGDA team wants to further develop its project organization and is looking for a DEVOPS engineer to assist in the migration of the MAGDA Platform to a public cloud offering.

Required Experience:

• Proven experience in automating CI/CD processes (Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, or GitHub Actions) – Must have
• Proven experience in managing a container orchestration system (OpenShift, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), or AWS Elastic Kubernetes (EKS) Service) – Must have
• Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure through Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, or Pulumi) – Must have
• Proven experience in Agile & DevOps culture – Medior (3 years) – Should have
• Proven experience in managing a Microsoft Azure environment – Medior (3 years) – Should have
• Proven experience in automating CI/CD processes (Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, or GitHub Actions) – Medior (3 years) – Nice to have
• Proven experience in Linux system administration – Nice to have
• Proven experience with HashiCorp Vault – Nice to have
• Proven experience in automating DevOps tasks in Golang – Junior (1 year) – Nice to have
