The IT security team of Trivago implements company-wide IT security concepts based on common standards and consults developers and operations teams on various security demands. They are passionate about securing cutting-edge technology worldwide to provide exceptional user experience, delivering attractive hotel deals in one search. As a Cyber Security Specialist focusing on cloud security and secure software development, you'll play a critical role in fortifying our travel technology ecosystem. In this role, you'll bridge the gap between the IT security, SRE, and development teams.

Responsibilities:

• Apply your extensive knowledge of security practices and SecDevOps experience to develop and deploy robust, secure, and innovative hybrid cloud and on-premises solutions
• Join a small and dynamic team, and play a crucial role working across all security domains to strengthen and advance our company’s cybersecurity posture
• Inspire and guide engineers to securely design, develop, and operate services, while maintaining a strong focus on productivity
• Act as a security ambassador by raising awareness and embedding a security-first mindset throughout the company
• Develop a deep understanding of the company’s business needs and operations to identify cloud security requirements and shape an effective security strategy

Qualifications:

• Over 5 years of proven expertise as a Security SRE, SecDevOps, or Cyber Security Specialist, with a focus on secure software development practices in a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field
• Strong understanding of security frameworks, standards, and regulations
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Java EE and Spring Framework. Alternatives include Golang, Python, or Rust
• Good understanding of web application security principles, including the OWASP Top Ten and secure coding practices
• Comprehensive understanding of office IT security principles and familiarity with security tools used to detect, monitor, and enforce IT security
• Ability to implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and guideline
• Expertise in conducting security assessments, code reviews, and penetration testing
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to address complex security challenge

Nice to have:

• Exceptional knowledge of cloud security, preferably with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Practical experience as a SecDevOps-/DevSecOps-/DevOps- engineer, Developer
• Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), GIAC Cloud Security Automation (GCSA), CompTIA Cloud+
• Expertise in implementing security Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) structures, especially ISO/IEC 27x and Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).
• Skilled in using Akamai security products
• Prior experience in the travel industry or familiarity with its specific security considerations is a plus
