Backend Engineer (Provisioning Team)

Squarespace Dublin is seeking a Backend Engineer for our Provisioning team within Revenue Systems. You'll build and maintain key backend services powering the Squarespace purchasing platform, enabling seamless product purchases and subscription management. Focusing on services like Order and Provisioning, you'll manage orders, subscriptions, and provisioning. You will report to the Provisioning Engineering Team Manager.

You’ll Get To…

• Develop backend services (APIs, event-driven systems) for our purchasing platform.
• Use Java, Spring, PostgreSQL, and Kafka at scale services and improve performance.
• Collaborate with product teams on new features and improve order processing.
• Contribute to frontend projects (React, TypeScript, Redux).
• Learn and grow with Senior and Staff engineers.
• Work on main services: Order Service (order management) and Provisioning Service (user access).
• Integrate with our platform through Kafka for asynchronous orchestration.
  
  

Who We’re Looking For…

• 3+ years of experience developing backend systems with Java or similar object-oriented programming languages.
• Understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, databases, and software design principles.
• Experience with frameworks such as Spring and relational databases like PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with event-driven systems and messaging tools (e.g., Kafka).
• Frontend experience with React, TypeScript, or Redux is a bonus but not required.
• BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Enthusiastic about taking ownership of projects and driving them from launch to delivery.
