About The Role

As the Project Officer you will
- Analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative data regarding skills needs, workforce development, and the apprenticeship and traineeship program in Queensland.
- Stay informed about the Queensland labour market, regional economic activity, industry trends, and changing workforce trends to contribute to research and policy advice.
- Participate in and support specialist project activities, manage tasks using Jira Work Management, engage with stakeholders, and fulfil data requests.
- Participate in team efforts to develop and execute innovative research and projects and convert research findings into practical policy suggestions.
- Maintain professionalism in the Jobs Queensland Secretariat by staying updated on corporate strategies, policies, and understanding government priorities that have implications for Jobs Queensland.
The position requires an applicant who can:
- Source, analyse and interpret research, and quantitative and qualitative data, particularly in relation to skills, training, and labour markets.
- Provide project support to address a range of activities impacting on policies in relation to workforce planning and development, future skills needs and apprenticeships and traineeships.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with industry and regional stakeholders, team members and contractors.
- Work professionally and effectively under pressire, handle competing priorities and meet deadlines, either independently or as part of a team.
- Communicate effectively, including providing accurate analysis of research and data within externally set timeframes.
- While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, qualifications and/or practical experience and skills in MS Excel, PowerBI, SharePoint and Jira would be highly regarded.
