Job Description:

As a DEVOPS Engineer within the MAGDA Cloud Platform team, you will be responsible for the development of a modern cloud platform according to the principles of DevOps and Platform Engineering and you will support the move from an existing private cloud environment to a public cloud offering based on Microsoft Azure.

Demonstrable experience in development of the based applications

Demonstrable experience in executing programming assignments very smoothly: coding, testing and debugging.

Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Agile development methodology

Context

The MAGDA data sharing platform set up a cloud-ready platform architecture in 2020 to meet the new and future needs of our customers. This platform is the central component for the most crucial digitisation projects within the Flemish and local government. The platform ensures secure access to Flemish authentic data sources through a single technical 'one-stop-shop' so that it becomes easier for the government to digitize their services. In 2025, we will take the next step in this process and prepare the MAGDA Platform to be able to switch to a public cloud offering securely, reliably and future-proof, in order to further evolve into a Flemish Data Integration Platform in the coming legislature.

The MAGDA team wishes to further expand its project organization and with a DEVOPS engineer, with a view to migrating the MAGDA Platform to a public cloud offering.

• Proven experience in automating CI/CD processes (Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, or GitHub Actions)

• Proven experience in managing a container orchestration system (OpenShift, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), or AWS Elastic Kubernetes (EKS) Service)

• Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure via Infrastructure-As-Code (Terraform, Bicep, or Pulumi)

• Demonstrable experience in Agile & DevOps culture

• Demonstrable experience in managing a Microsoft Azure environment

• Proven experience in automating CI/CD processes (Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, or GitHub Actions)

• Proven experience in Linux system administration

• Demonstrable experience with Hashicorp Vault

• Demonstrable experience with automating DevOps tasks in Golang

• Proven experience in managing a container orchestration system (OpenShift, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), or AWS Elastic Kubernetes (EKS) Service)

• Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure via Infrastructure-As-Code (Terraform, Bicep, or Pulumi)

• Proven experience in the development of technology-based applications

• Language requirement: Dutch at European CEFR level C2

• Demonstrable experience in programming assignments: being able to code, test and debug very smoothly

• Demonstrable knowledge and experience with Agile development methodology
