Sentinel are working with a major financial services client in Vilnius, seeking a skilled and self-motivated DevOps Engineer to join their dynamic Cloud Architecture team who are designing and providing infrastructure as code and automation for the Software-as-a-Service division of a new acquisition. Their SaaS platforms enables transformative business processing through a suite of award-winning, innovative solutions for capital markets and financial players of all sizes. Both platforms are rapidly growing, fully hosted and deliver the power and sophistication of market-leading software applications as a service.

Key Responsibilities

• Build GitLab pipelines to provision and set up infrastructure (e.g., various VMs, Git repositories, OKE clusters, NSGs, security lists) and validate the environment.
• Develop GitLab pipelines to manage a fleet of clusters (e.g., OKE version upgrades, worker node image updates, and pod image upgrades).
• Create GitLab pipelines to manage multiple environments (e.g., upgrading monitoring stacks, undeploying and redeploying applications).
• Collaborate with the team to integrate validation and sanity checks into deployment pipelines.
• Work with the team to enhance the resiliency of the monitoring stack (Grafana).
• Coordinate with the team and cloud providers to improve infrastructure monitoring (OCI to OpenTelemetry Exporter).
• Automate disaster recovery (DR) pipelines in collaboration with the team.
• Document processes using Confluence, Draw.io, and PowerPoint.
• Install, test, and automate monitoring solutions on Linux and Windows systems for production rollouts.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field.
• Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes and container technologies.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting.
• Extensive experience writing GitLab pipelines.
• Familiarity with PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience writing Terraform code.
• Experience building and running container images (knowledge of BuildKit/Podman is a plus).
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Datadog, and OpenTelemetry.
• Basic understanding of application design patterns (REST, API).
• Cloud experience (networking, compute, etc.).
• Strong ability to rapidly assess, analyze, and resolve complex issues with limited information.
• Willingness to troubleshoot issues and incidents to minimize disruption or downtime.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams (DevOps, Operations, Product Management) within an Agile environment.
