Cybersecurity Analyst

Overview:

The Cybersecurity Analyst plays a critical role in monitoring, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats to protect the university’s systems and data. The role focuses on identifying potential vulnerabilities, assisting with incident response, and supporting the implementation of cybersecurity measures across the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor security systems and alerts to identify potential threats or vulnerabilities.
• Conduct routine vulnerability scans and assist in addressing identified issues.
• Assist in incident response by investigating suspicious activities and escalating when necessary.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of security tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure compliance with access control policies.
• Assist in maintaining documentation related to cybersecurity processes and protocols.
• Contribute to cybersecurity awareness initiatives by supporting training sessions for faculty, staff, and students.

Instructor Responsibilities:

Must be willing to assist in teaching cybersecurity-related workshops or courses as part of the Institute of Private Training Program.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in a cybersecurity or IT-related role (internships or projects can be considered).
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or CEH are preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Basic understanding of threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Familiarity with security tools and technologies.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
