Lead Product Security Engineer

InterQuest is proud to exclusively partner with a leading FinTech company and longstanding partner of ours to find a talented Lead Cyber Engineer with a focus Product & Application Security.

As the Lead Cyber Engineer you'll be given the keys to the Product Security kingdom. You’ll work closely with development teams on design reviews, threat modeling, code reviews, and automation, ensuring that security is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.

The position is currently a Staff level simply due to the fact that you will be the very first hire, but plans are for you to grow your own team (budgets and head count secured) and develop the role into a Director/Deputy CISO position as the team grows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead product security strategy, ensuring best practices are followed
• Lead code reviews, pen testing (internal & external), and vulnerability assessments
• Collaborate with the Engineering team to ensure Security is baked into the SDLC from the very get go
• Lead Threat Modeling activities and initiatives
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines, championing a "shift-left" mentality in the business

What You’ll Need:

• Solid experience Application Security (preferably in financial/tech sectors), I'm more concerned about what you've done over the number of years you've been doing it!
• Strong knowledge of web app security, secure coding, and tools like SAST & DAST scanners
• A background in Software Engineering would be hiring desirable, but no fear if not! Solid coding skills with a language like Python, Kotlin, TypeScript or Go without the background will certainly work
• Cloud Security expertise (ideally AWS)
• Familiarity with security frameworks (OWASP, NIST) and regulatory requirements (GDPR, ISO 27001)
• A great personality that is hungry to challenge yourself and learn from some of the very best in the business

My client's HQ is based in Amsterdam and the role has a remote/hybrid set-up, so you can choose how and where you operate from. Salary is around the €120k mark and comes with an excellent package that includes shares plus an annual bonus.
