Network Access Engineer - ClearPass Specialist

What’s the Opportunity?

As a Senior Network Access Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, supporting, and designing various ClearPass policies across multiple platforms (including Wireless, Network Access Control (NAC), TACACS, and IoT) in a large-scale, distributed environment. You will also ensure compliance by providing audit evidence and reports across various regulations and jurisdictions.

In this role, you will serve as the Level 2 escalation point for technology partners and Level 1 network operations staff, while also contributing to global projects and system integrations.

What Will You Do?

• Design and implement ClearPass policies, resolving network-related issues effectively.
• Provide Level 2 support for access control solutions across different ClearPass applications (NAC for wired and wireless networks, TACACS, and IoT).
• Optimize WAN link usage and ensure its full and effective utilization.
• Leverage resources like documentation and internal contacts to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Identify significant operational or network challenges and collaborate with the relevant development teams to propose potential solutions.
• Report network issues to management and business representatives, ensuring proper escalation when necessary.
• Set follow-up timelines for incidents to ensure recovery within severity guidelines.
• Follow up with service partners if status updates are overdue and escalate issues when required.
• Act as the primary point of contact between development teams and the Network Operations Center (NOC) for change management.
• Coordinate with business and service partners to ensure smooth change activities.
• Contribute to and review Method of Procedure documents for change management projects.
• Initiate change control tickets and develop detailed execution plans.
• Monitor and follow-up on the success of change activities to ensure a high success rate.
• Strive for 100% successful change execution with zero unplanned downtime from planned changes.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation, including procedures and network diagrams, reflecting any changes made.

What You Need to Succeed

Must-Have Skills:

• In-depth expertise in ClearPass and Cisco Switching technologies.
• Strong knowledge of firewall rule configurations (Checkpoint and Palo Alto Networks).
• Familiarity with WLAN and network segmentation techniques.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• ClearPass Professional Certification.
• Experience with WLAN solutions (Meraki or Cisco).
• ITIL V3 certification
