Welcome to Amazon Games Bucharest! Joining the ranks of the existing development teams in Orange County, Montreal, San Diego and Seattle, we're excited to expand Amazon Games' commitment to creating and publishing incredible games, and we're on the lookout for talented folks to join us as we grow.

As Game Frontend (UI) Technical Artist, you create and support frontend systems and features, such as the HUD and the menus. You also contribute to the implementation of gameplay systems. You work closely with UX designers and other developers, guiding them towards a robust and evolutive implementation. You collaborate with peers and you make sure your work integrates well with the other game ingredients, providing the player with a unique user experience.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design and implement UI systems and animations
  • Collaborate with designers and programmers to create efficient, scalable UI frameworks
  • Optimize UI performance and memory usage
  • Develop and maintain UI tools and pipelines
  • Provide technical leadership in UI/UX implementation, mentoring junior artists

About The Team

At Amazon Games, our ambition is to create bold new experiences that foster community in and around our games. Our team of game industry veterans is developing and publishing live service AAA multiplayer games and developing original IPs, including New World: Aeternum and an upcoming title based on The Lord of the Rings, with our studios and teams in Seattle, Orange County, San Diego, Montreal, and Bucharest. Amazon Games also publishes best-in-class games working closely with our partners, leading with Lost Ark from Smilegate RPG, Throne and Liberty from NCSOFT, as well as the next major entry in the Tomb Raider series from Crystal Dynamics.

Basic Qualifications

  • Professional experience as a Technical UI Designer for AAA games.
  • C++ knowledge
  • Portfolio showing style range, creativity and craftsmanship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing multiplayer features for AAA video games
  • Experience with Unreal 5 or similar game engine
  • Experience with Java
