What You’ll Do At Gilion

As a senior backend engineer at Gilion, you will be part of a cross functional product team working alongside other developers, designers and machine learning specialists. The tech team iterates fast, and being data nerds, we measure user behavior and verify our bets through user testing. We balance rapid iteration experiments with long-term strategic bets and continuous improvements to our infrastructure. In this role you will also:

• contribute to architectural decisions as part of a functional team working across the product teams.
• work hands on in developing micro services in Go or Python on our infrastructure built with Kubernetes, Docker, Github and GCP.
• experiment with new technologies, especially utilizing the latest machine learning applications, both to improve developer experience but also our products.
• take part in a low overhead, product development process where ideas go to production in days and deployments to production happen multiple times a day.
  
  

About You

• 5+ years of working as a software engineer with a backend focus
• experience of working in a cross functional team
• openness to learn and thrive in tackling a variety of problems that you might not have seen before.
• collaborative mindset where you leverage your colleagues expertise for coming up with a better solution together.
• leadership mindset or experience from leading initiatives or teams
  
  

While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:

• a DevOps mindset and understanding of infrastructure and tooling
• experience with security, architecture and/or cloud technologies
