Our Product Design team is looking for a Product Designer who will work across web services and software to create the next generation of home security experiences. We are looking for a highly determined, highly curious candidate who brings passion to the security and life safety space to join our team.

In particular, we are looking for a contributor who demonstrates strong design and storytelling skills to present compelling experiences to stakeholders. The candidate is expected to work creatively around difficult business, technical, or resource constraints. They will also drive alignment around design decisions by soliciting and managing design feedback, and communicating and partnering with peers and stakeholders in producing great visual and accessible experiences based on user-centric design patterns.

Key job responsibilities

• Brainstorm, mock-up and prototype concepts, specify designs according to use cases and iterate designs based on feedback and data.
• Work closely with product managers, developers and other designers to design iteratively and refine solutions.
• Produce documentation to ensure stakeholders well understood your designs and detailed enough for efficient development.
• Be an advocate of our neighbors throughout design and development of products.
• Be a champion for user testing by partnering with researchers to get your solutions validated.
• Contribute to expanding on our design components and design system.
• Work through ambiguity and adapt your approach to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to meet ambitious deadlines and deliver high-quality work on schedule.
• Apply the latest WCAG accessibility standards into every aspect of your work.
  
  

A day in the life

You will use a variety of methods, including wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups, to communicate design solutions to product managers, engineering, and other stakeholders at every phase of product development. You will invent and simplify technical solutions in order to create intuitive user experiences. You will collaborate daily with a team of designers, product managers, engineers, and research professionals working on Ring.com’s most important products and services.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in design
• Experience in delivering design solutions as a UX designer or interaction designer
• Have an available online portfolio
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in mass-market consumer web / mobile products
• Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
