Full Stack Developer

We're seeking a talented Senior Software Developer to join our dynamic team and contribute to developing our iOS mobile application. In this role, you'll use your full-stack expertise to build upon our existing codebase to launch an MVP of our app, with a go-live expected at the start of 2025. You will be our founding engineer, heading up tech delivery and supported by a team of junior devs. Join us to shape the future of beauty tech by delivering a solution that is robust and scalable with an exceptional user experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop a full-stack mobile application (frontend: using React-Native and Expo, backend: using NodeJS, ExpressJS, AWS ECS, and Amazon DocumentDB, external integrations: with Amazon Cognito, Google Maps, Firebase FCM)
• Deploy and validate the solution on Apple (TestFlight) and AWS (leveraging Infrastructure as Code)
• Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness
• Manage our team of 2 junior developers (software engineering students from the University of Sydney)
• Collaborate closely with the founders, UX/UI designer, & Senior Tech Advisor (AWS Architect with 16+ years experience)
• Test software through unit and integration tests
• Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and programming languages

Requirements

• Sydney-based
• 3+ years of experience in building mobile/web applications using JavaScript, React Native, Node.js, DocumentDB (with MongoDB compatibility)
• 3+ years of experience building and deploying cloud native solutions on AWS (including hands-on experience with networking, security, load balancers, API gateways, containers, databases services, CloudFormation)
• Strong background in both relational and non-relational databases, with proficiency in SQL and MQL
• Ability to translate requirements into a scalable, resilient and cost effective solution design, using the most appropriate tools, technologies, and languages for the job
• Team-oriented, with a willingness to work as part of a collaborative environment
• Skilled in software development lifecycle methodologies
• A relevant B.Sc./B.A. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
