About The Job

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic Research and Innovation team based in Melbourne. You will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams to deliver projects that span across the entire business unit including managing resources, schedules, financials, and adhering to stage gate quality and delivery life cycles.

Reporting to the R&I and Sustainability Manager, you will lead and manage projects focused on innovation and productivity pipelines, as well as Capital Expenditure (Capex) projects.

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to)

  • Lead a full portfolio, oversee multiple streams of work, and drive an open and positive interdependent relationship between the Project Team, Operations, and project stakeholders.
  • Develop project plans, allocate resources, and manage project performance by identifying and mitigating risks, managing issues, and providing necessary support.
  • Develop and maintain budgets, track expenses, and manage timelines ensuring all projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Lead the monthly innovation meeting (LIM) with wider business to ensure all NPD and key activities are reflected in the latest plan.
  • Ensure all criteria of the stage gate process are met and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the cross-functional teams.
  • Manage change within the business, ensuring agility adopted across dynamic business environments.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Research & Innovation, marketing, supply chain, finance, quality, and operations.

About You

You are a self-motivated and experienced Project Manager with a track record of managing medium and large-scale projects in the innovation, sustainable packaging, and renovation space. You will enjoy working towards results, love dealing with different people daily, and can handle ambiguity and shifting priorities. You bring a positive attitude, are easy to get along with, and have a natural flair for building rapport with diverse stakeholders across the business.

Ideally, you will have

  • Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Commerce, Product design, or related field
  • Significant Project Management experience, preferably within the FMCG industry, with a track record of implementing varying types and sizes of projects on time and to budget.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive project success.
  • Capacity to manage ambiguity and competing priorities with Senior Leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
