Java Legacy Systems Developer
Contract - Initial 6 months but high chance of long term extension
Dublin/Hybrid (1/2 days required onsite)
Rate : €350 per day

We are looking for a Legacy Developer to join our client, a semi-state organization, as part of an Agile delivery team focused on CS Essential Changes. The role requires Java experience and involves maintaining and updating custom-built applications developed using legacy technologies such as ASP, Visual Basic, and Java.

• Maintain and implement changes to legacy software applications.
• Ensure seamless integration of older systems with newer technologies.
• Identify and resolve bugs, defects, and performance issues.
• Support potential upgrade projects to transition applications to modern technologies.
• Write and maintain technical documentation.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks to ensure application stability.
  
  

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Legacy Developer.
• Full Stack Java Development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java, .NET, ASP.NET.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development best practices.
• Experience in CI/CD, DevSecOps, Cloud Platforms (Azure is a plus).
• Knowledge of software security best practices.
• Strong incident and change management experience.
• Excellent organizational skills and experience with various IT environments.

This role offers an opportunity to work in an Agile team while supporting essential changes and upgrades in legacy applications. Candidates with Azure PaaS and VB, ASP experience will have an advantage, but these are not mandatory.
