About the Role

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with experience in scaling cloud infrastructure on AWS. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in cloud technologies who is ready to take on the challenge of optimising and automating large-scale environments. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our cloud infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and scale AWS cloud infrastructure to support business growth.
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform / CloudFormation.
  • Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and improve release cycles.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost optimisation.
  • Ensure high availability, security, and compliance across cloud environments.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Implement robust logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools.
  • Manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Work closely with software engineers, security teams, and other stakeholders to enhance DevOps best practices.
  • Stay informed about emerging cloud and DevOps technologies to continuously improve infrastructure.


Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a focus on AWS cloud environments.
  • Proven experience in scaling cloud-based infrastructure to support business needs.
  • Strong understanding of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, and IAM.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Proficiency in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) in scalable environments.
  • Strong scripting abilities in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.
  • Knowledge of security best practices, identity management, and compliance in AWS.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.


Desirable Skills

  • AWS certifications (e.g. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect).
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Exposure to serverless architectures like AWS Lambda and API Gateway.
  • Knowledge of database scaling and performance optimisation in cloud environments.
