About The Team

We're building a brand new data platform. This platform will provide robust capabilities for financial data search, reporting, and streaming, transforming our current infrastructure into a scalable, high-performance platform to support the implementation of custom reporting products and pave the way for AI-powered transaction insights and analysis.

What You’ll Do

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer to lead the development of our Next Generation Financial Data and Insights Platform.

This role is based in Melbourne.

Responsibilities

You'll help us build a scalable financial data storage and retrieval platform, and develop low-latency, high-reliability APIs for financial data search and retrieval.

This team is implementing a robust data streaming infrastructure, using Kafka, Spark and related technologies, and you'll be designing and optimising OLAP data storage-based solutions for comprehensive financial reporting.

Who You Are

We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum Qualifications

• Proven experience in building large-scale, high-performance data-intensive systems.
• Expertise in SQL, Elasticsearch, BigQuery or similar technologies.
• Strong knowledge of data streaming technologies.
• Experience with extensible schema design and schema evolution management.
• Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in working with financial data systems is preferred but not strictly required.
