We are now looking for a

DATA ENGINEER

to join Finnair’s CCX Data & Analytics team.

As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in developing our cloud-based data platform and will, together with the team, help advance fact-based decision making at Finnair. The CCX Data and Analytics team is an international and experienced team of Data Engineers, Data Scientists, BI Developers, and Business Analysts supporting Finnair’s Commercial and Customer Experience (CCX) business unit. Depending on your experience and profile, your responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Developing data pipelines and data solutions, such as data models and data marts, for various use-cases
  • Analyzing content, quality, and lineage of the datasets under development
  • Proactively working together with team members and business stakeholders to make the most out of the data available to us
  • Documentation: contributing to common documentation on architecture, working principles, owning the solution description documentation
  • Exploration of new technology and tools: regularly checking what are the current options, latest versions, etc. to ensure efficiency and reliability
  • Continuous improvement of practices: increasing productivity and optimizing the use of resources

An Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

  • Analytical, business minded, and pro-active working style
  • Capacity to translate business needs to technical requirements
  • Working experience with Snowflake, Python, and with AWS cloud services and technologies such as Glue, NiFi, Kinesis, Kafka, Airflow, dbt, Spark, etc.
  • Experience in building and automating data pipelines for batch processing and streaming
  • Experience in identifying and implementing optimization opportunities.
  • We are looking for a business minded person eager to work with commercial data. Previous experience of working with customer data and understanding of customer data compliance is seen as an advantage
