Technical Architect

Connexus are delighted to be supporting a major international brand that are embarking on an exciting new digital transformation journey to find an experienced Software Development professional to join their team as a Technical Architect.

The role will report directly into their Head of Technical Development and will be working on greenfield Software and Hardware applications and projects that will be used by hundreds of thousands of customers on a daily basis, globally.

Responsibilities:

• Define and enforce architecture principles, standards, and best practices
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient solutions for web & mobile applications
• Create clear technical documentation, outlining system components and data flows
• Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to enhance application performance
• Ensure seamless integration with existing systems, APIs, and services
• Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and designers to align solutions with business needs
• Develop strategies for data management and sharing across platforms
• Manage SQL & NoSQL databases for efficient data storage and retrieval
• Utilize Azure services (Functions, App Service, SQL) to build robust back-end systems
• Continuously assess and refine architectures to improve performance and mitigate risks
• Maintain and evolve a set of reusable reference architectures to drive consistency

Skills/Experience Required:

• 5+ years of software development with a focus on architecture & design
• Proven track record in leading architectural projects and guiding technical teams
• Deep knowledge of Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud platforms
• Expertise in DevOps practices & CI/CD pipelines
• Expertise in RESTful APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and containerization
• Hands-on experience with Azure Functions, GitHub workflows, and cloud automation
• Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Node.js, C#, or Python
• Deep understanding of SQL & NoSQL databases and data management practices
• Ability to align technology strategy with business objectives
• Strong advocate for an architecture-driven approach in IT
• Skilled at balancing long-term vision with short-term tactical needs
• Passion for mentoring and knowledge sharing
• Strong communicator who works effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• A self-motivated problem solver who stays ahead of industry trends
• Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field
• Agile/DevOps certifications (e.g., Scrum Master, Cloud Foundations) are a plus
